ESL Jobs in China

We are now holding interviews for qualified English teachers to teach at our primary, middle and high schools in major cities around China, including Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, Foshan, Nanjing, Ningbo, Suzhou and Dalian. Our students are aged from 7 to 17 years old and we warmly welcome teachers who thrive on inspiring young English learners to join our energetic, creative team. If you are a dynamic teacher, have an interest in an authentic Chinese public school setting and can deliver learner centered, engaging lessons then we are interested in speaking with you.

We offer a combination of the highest educational standards and our classes encourage children to explore, participate and cooperate in a caring and supportive teaching environment. Teachers will be teaching a maximum of 20 hours per week from Monday to Friday with weekends off. Class size ranges from 20 to 30 students. You will make use of a variety of engaging teaching materials and methods including group work, music, activities, performances and much more.

Teach English in Beijing

Beijing, capital of the People’s Republic of China, is the nation’s political, economic, cultural, educational and international trade and communication center. Located in northern China, close to the port city of Tianjin and partially surrounded by Hebei province, Beijing continues to be an exciting place for all things music, fashion and art with plenty of events and shows to attend. There is a thriving expat community in Beijing, with the Sanlitun area being a popular destination for both expats and trendy locals to mix and mingle over drinks. One of the most important landmarks in the city is Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest public square and a must see for all.

Teach English in Shanghai

Known as the ‘Pearl of the Orient’, Shanghai is truly an international metropolis in every sense of the word. The most vibrant and progressive city in China, Shanghai is the economic and cultural center, blending an incredible mix of Eastern and Western culture. On one side of the mighty Yangtze River flowing through Shanghai is the Pu Dong district, rural farm land just 30 years ago, it is now the financial and commercial hub with skyscrapers stretching ever higher. For those who like to shop, party and eat, Shanghai has all you could possibly want and more. But despite its cosmopolitan reputation, pockets of quaint tradition remain alive and well, dotted throughout the city. Explore countless old markets, back streets crammed with local eateries and discover incense filled temples still central to the locals’ daily life.

Teach English in Shenzhen

Shenzhen is located in the southern portion of the Guangdong Province, on the eastern shore of the Pearl River Delta. Neighboring the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong (located just south of Shenzhen), Shenzhen’s location gives it a geographical advantage for economic development. Shenzhen is considered as one of the richest cities in the country which offers foreigners a great insight into contemporary China. From a small fishing village 30 years ago, Shenzhen has turned into a city filled with dynamic energy and on its way to becoming a world-class metropolis.

Teach English in Guangzhou

Guangzhou, a prosperous metropolis full of vigor, is the capital city of Guangdong province located along the south coastline of China. Being an excellent port on the Pearl River navigable to the South China Sea, and with fast accessibility to Hong Kong and Macau, Guangzhou serves as the political, economic, scientific, educational and cultural center in the Guangdong area. Guangzhou is considered as the paradise for food-lovers in south China. Explore a modern, developing city with an exciting mix of restaurants, bars, shopping as well as tradition elements.

Main Responsibilities

-Maximum of 20 teaching hours per week
-Monday to Friday schedule with weekends off
-Student age: 7 to 17
-Class size: 20 to 30
-Plan and implement lessons that are developmentally appropriate
-Participate in parent meetings, training opportunities, and other staff meetings
-Perform additional duties as assigned by the principal

Compensation

-Excellent monthly salary: 20,000 to 30,000 RMB depending on qualifications, experience and location
-Flight reimbursement on arrival up to 5,000 RMB
-Pre-paid flight to China for candidates who graduated from university in 2021-2023, on condition that applicants pay 200 USD
-Visa processing reimbursement on arrival up to 5,000 RMB
-Support with finding an apartment to rent and 4 days of free hotel on arrival
-11 Chinese public holidays + 1 month winter (half pay) & 2 months summer (no pay) vacation
-Legal ‘Z’ work visa provided
-Medical and accident insurance provided
-Contract renewal bonus: 5,000 RMB
-Airport pickup
-Pre-training provided: orientation, Chinese culture, Mandarin class, teaching methodology
-On-going training and academic support
-Career development opportunities in teaching, course development and regional trainer

Requirements

-Bachelor’s degree or above required
-TEFL / CELTA / teaching license certificate (No TEFL? We recommend INTESOL)
-Previous teaching experience with young learners preferred but not required
-Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland & South Africa
-Good knowledge of young learner educational theory preferred
-Cultural sensitivity, awareness, and willingness to explore other cultures
