Changshu – The City
Changshu, Mandarin for “frequent harvest” is a city known as the “clothing capital of China”. It has a reputation being the worldwide leader in garment distribution and trade. It is located in the south-eastern part of eastern China’s Jiangsu province, the richest and most fertile land on the Yangtze River Delta. It has a mild and humid climate with distinct seasons. Its population is over one million.
If you want to experience modern and ancient China, Changshu is the ideal city for you. Living and working in this city gives you a perspective on China’s past, present and future. One if its amazing features is Yushan Mountain rising high above Yangtze River plain. Its mountain park is crisscrossed with hiking trails, rivers, lakes, tea farms and ancient temples with an excellent view of the city skyline right below. You can also find the beautiful Shang Lake with old temples placed around the city.
What’s special about Changshu compared to other cities in China is its good air quality with the help of the local economy just focusing on light manufacturing, garment production and technology services instead of heavy industry. It is famous for its beautiful parks, gardens, pagodas and temples.
