My name is Alana, I'm from Australia and I've been teaching English in Tianjin for a year. I wrote this article for the Chinese National Holiday because it can be difficult for new teachers to know what to do in Tianjin, and teachers that have been in Tianjin for a while are always looking for fresh ideas. I also wanted foreign teachers to know what the holiday is about and understand what it means to their local friends and colleagues.
