The compensation package for English teachers in China
The Wall Street English salary you will be paid is well above the industry average and allows for an extremely comfortable lifestyle in China. Wall Street English (formally Wall Street Institute) teachers have a high disposable income with more than enough to really make the most of your time living and teaching English in China. Cost of living in China is still dramatically lower than in the West and the Wall Street English salary easily covers the cost of renting an apartment as well as day to day living expenses and plenty left over to enjoy a variety of delicious food at restaurants, shopping trips and taking trips to other areas of China.
Depending on your spending habits you will be able to save between 20 – 50% of your monthly salary so substantial savings can be made during the course of your contract with Wall Street English. If you wish to send money home this can be done relatively easily through local banks in China. We can give you further details on this once we receive your application.
Wall Street English Salary
Wall Street English offers two options for teaching jobs in China:
A: 16,000 RMB per month (roughly 2,500 USD) for 30 teaching hours + 5 office hours / week
B: 11,200 RMB per month (roughly 1,800 USD) for 21 teaching hours + 4 office hours / week

The salary is paid on a monthly basis in local Chinese currency which is known as Renminbi / RMB or ‘yuan’ for short.
Bonuses
Monthly bonuses are offered at Wall Street English based on teaching appraisals carried out by the school Service Manager. The bonuses can be up to 1000 RMB per month for teachers on option A and up to 500 RMB per month for teachers on option B.
A generous end of contract completion bonus of 7,000 RMB for teachers on option A and 3,500 RMB for those on option B is paid by Wall Street English.
Holidays
During your time teaching English in China you will have a number of holidays throughout the year. All Wall Street English teachers are given 11 days holidays for the Chinese National Holidays plus an additional 10 days for option A teachers or 5 days for option B teachers per year.
Training
Wall Street English is committed to helping you develop your skill sets and teaching competencies throughout your teaching contract. The Service Manager provides teacher training sessions and support in the form of workshops, seminars, class observations and feedback sessions. Time is devoted to idea sharing so you will also have fresh teaching ideas.
