Reviews from Current and Previous ESL Teachers
One of the best things about my current school, that separates it from the other training centre’s I’ve worked at, is they listen to you. I know that seems like an obvious thing most schools will do, however I’ve found that outside the classroom we don’t get a lot of respect. That’s not the case here, all my suggestions were listened to and actual change was made. Now I am in charge of all the foreign teachers and we are making a real difference to the students and the school. Chris (Assistant Manager)
My name is Tina, and I’ve been in Fuzhou for nearly 3 years and have worked in all different types of educational institutions. I started working for my current school from November 2018, from then to now I’ve grown to like the school more and more. Firstly, it has a nice environment, good, helpful co-workers and of course I enjoy their teaching method. I get to practice new teaching methods which include working with flashcards and TPR. Also, working with different age groups helps me to improve my teaching skills. There are so many things here for me to learn. Tina (ESL Teacher).
I’ve worked for a lot of different schools in China and my current school is definitely one of the good ones. There are never any issues with pay, and teachers are never required to do unpaid overtime or change their schedules last minute or anything like that. What’s more, you’re completely supported without being micromanaged. There are great textbooks to follow, resources to use and experienced teachers on hand to offer guidance, but you’re given a lot of freedom to plan your classes and encouraged to be creative. One of the best things about the job is the light workload, never more than 24 working hours in a week. Caine (Senior Teacher)
