ESL Jobs in Shanghai
We are currently recruiting dynamic English teachers to teach adult students at our flagship language schools in Shanghai. Candidates will use a variety of teaching approaches along with their creativity and energy and a wide range of teaching materials and technology to engage students in a truly memorable and effective learning experience.
You do not need prior experience teaching as we offer a comprehensive training program and even offer a free TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course which covers the foundations of teaching methodologies and prepares you for the classroom. If you have fluent English, a patient personality, are able to create a fun learning environment and you have a genuine interest in improving the language skills of our students, then we have a position for you.
English First (EF) is truly global company, established in 1965 and now with over 500 centers around the world. EF opened its first school in China in 2001 and has since established itself as the market leader for private language learning with over 300 schools, employing over a thousand teachers.
You will be teaching students aged from 18 years and older. These days learning English is an essential part of many careers for Chinese people, so your students will be motivated to learn and eager to improve their English. You will be teaching levels from beginner to intermediate and advanced, which allows for a lot of variety in the topics and teaching styles. You will focus on developing the students’ communicative abilities through a variety of controlled practice exercises as well as providing plenty of opportunities for high student talk time through role plays, discussions and pair work.
Popular with students and teachers alike, EF course books have been developed by a dedicated team of linguistic and educational experts. Course books are accompanied by a wide range of supplementary materials. All schools have interactive white boards, connected to the internet and loaded with multimedia resources which add an exciting new dimension to how you can teach.
Teach English in Shanghai
Known as the ‘Pearl of the Orient’, Shanghai is truly an international metropolis in every sense of the word. The most vibrant and progressive city in China, Shanghai is the economic and cultural center, blending an incredible mix of Eastern and Western culture. On one side of the mighty Yangtze River flowing through Shanghai is the Pu Dong district, rural farm land just 20 years ago, it is now the financial and commercial hub with skyscrapers stretching ever higher. Along the western bank of the river, the iconic Bund is a reminder of Shanghai’s colonial past featuring grand European architecture.
For those who like to shop, party and eat, Shanghai has all you could possibly want and more.
